    This is riddle with so much wrong information. Cottonmouth snakes do swim underwater. Depending on lighting, their pupils can also be round. And also, other snakes that are non-venomous will have a white mouth. This video may get someone bit.

    hadn’t seen water snakes become territorial here in Virginia , HOWEVER , I vividly remember being attacked while in a canoe on Indian River in upstate New York by multiple water snakes when I got too close to a muskrat den that they were laying upon !!!

    I recall a few years ago being on the Potomac and there was a couple swimming in the Potomac near a boat ramp, and a water snake came right up toward them. They quickly got out of the water, and it didn't seem scared of them at all. I'm not sure what kind of snake it was to be honest. Just found that odd that it wasn't afraid of them.

    What is meant by "checking the USGS gauge"? And can someone explain more about how the water levels fluctuate? The video mentioned power generation every hour, so does that mean the water levels go up and down every hour and by how much?

    I know this is an older video, but I'm hoping someone will answer this question. I absolutely love night fishing in the summer. Can I fish Amelia Lake at night? I'm always fully aware and mindful of everything I do, and care for the environment. I just like beating the heat, and also the larger bass tend to feed more at night. I've googled the crap out of Amelia Lake trying to find this answer, but the DWR site doesn't give any indication of times whatsoever

    I wonder how many on the water have taken the NASBLA Boating Safety course and have the certification card ??? … got mine 3 years ago when I built my boat before taking it out on the James !!!

      Wife n I got ours the first year they talked bout requiring it. Was an all day class at our local library. The biggest issue I see is people thinking what they are doing is more important than anything or anyone else on the water and no class will fix that.

It's really easy to take for granted when you grew up around it n have quite a few comercial watermen n your family tree. On RUclips I see atleast as much lack of education as I do personality flaws. So your point is more than fair. Again, I apologize for minimizing what you were saying as no valid point deserves to be diminished in any way. I sincerely hope you have a great weekend.       @@rjwintl another question if I may, is your profile pic the boat you built? If so it's beautiful. My grandfather had one very similar with a Evinrude 25 when I was a child. Dad tried to restore one our neighbors let sink but it was too far gone, full of worms n rotten wood..

    Ive fished this area my whole life. Catfiah have DEVESTATED the smallmouth population. You can see it. Schools of hundreds of blues all the way up near Scottsville. Its crazy though, back in 04 I could go out to the Nickle Bridge after school and catch 40-50 smallies. Now youl be lucky to catch 5 or 6 12-14 in smallies in a wwhole float from.Hugenot Flats to Reedy Creek. its paathetic. plety of Catfish though....

    I live past the landing, and you need to go back up river farther to the start of where you see draper road then troll, using double jig, one deep, but has weed guard, and one mid runner, or LYs to give off live bait scent. Ive caught so many and checked in at Bryson's store back in the day, you should listen

      I believe Red was last and was the one they did the eye lid surgery on. White just missed a landing which seems to have dominoed into running into the side of a building possibly due to increased nerves and flightiness. She spooked from a parking garage she was resting in after her miss. I believe a series of these stories are on the cam site still.

    Started on a cane pole, moved up to a Zebco, then a baitcaster for bass, and now I've moved on to saltwater fishing. Great intro kit for anyone who wants to get into fishing. Lifelong addiction. Introduce your kids to hunting or fishing and they'll never have money for drugs.

    Skinny bobbers work better as they are more hydrodynamic and the fish don't feel the resistance that a round bobber has. Bait holder hooks are a pain when it comes to unhooking fish, you can get a worm to stay on a fine wire number 8 size hook by skewering it on a little bit. They're much easier to unhook a fish.
